The Merchants Buildings

Retail

The Merchants Buildings, constructed in 1899, is a derelict four-storey ex-commercial structure that stands as one of the remaining three late Victorian buildings in the area. It showcases the distinct elements typical of that era, such as red brick and intricate terracotta detailing.

From 1901 to 1907, the top floor of the building served as Belfast's Municipal School of Art until its relocation to the Belfast Institute of Technology at College Square North.
