The Keep, located on Castle Lane, is a 70,000 sq ft mixed-use redevelopment project that has comprehensively refurbished the former BHS building in Belfast city centre. The site was acquired by Alterity Investments in early 2021, following its vacancy after BHS’s closure in 2016.
The scheme reconfigures the building over four floors to provide multiple ground-floor retail units and upper levels repurposed for leisure and hospitality uses. It features prominent frontages onto Castle Lane, Castle Arcade, and Cornmarket.
The refurbishment was completed in early 2024.
Key tenants include:
Apple – Relocated from Victoria Square
H&M – Opened in early 2024
Deichmann – Opened its first Northern Ireland store in early 2024
King Pins
Scheduled to open in late 2025, this venue will offer boutique bowling, mini golf, and family entertainment. In June 2025, a planning application (LA04/2025/1079/A) was submitted, proposing three internally hung illuminated letter signs, one fascia sign, and one projecting sign for King Pins.
