The John Hewitt

Bar

The John Hewitt is a bar located in the Cathedral Quarter of Belfast. It was Northern Ireland's first social enterprise bar when it opened in December 1999, and it is owned by The Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre. The bar is named after the late poet, socialist, and Freeman of Belfast, John Hewitt

Rumours circulated online in February 2022 that the bar would be taken over by Boundary Brewing, though this has yet to be confirmed or denied by Boundary.
