Filthy McNastys was a popular bar located on the Dublin Road in Belfast. The bar was previously known as Dempseys, which closed in 2007 due to fire damage.
In April 2023, a planning application (LA04/2023/3030/F) was submitted to redevelop the site into an 11-story purpose-built managed student accommodation scheme comprising 201 rooms, with ground floor retail space.
In December 2023, those plans were approved by Belfast City Council planning committee.
The pub closed for the final time at the end of December 2024. Demolition works commenced in January 2025 and were completed by mid-February 2025. Construction began shortly thereafter.
